Infra: Uttar Pradesh Government To Initiate Modern Policing In Noida And Gaziabad

LUCKNOW: With Noida, Greater Noida and Gaziabad becoming the gateway for investments in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has made special provisions to improve policing in the region. In a major policy decision the industry department has offered direct funding to augment and strengthen the police infrastructure in these three cities and introduce latest technology.
A high level meeting headed by Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, Alok Ranjan was held on Wednesday in which the DGP, Devraj Nagar, Principal Secretary, Law and Order, RM Srivastava, CEO, Noida, Rama Raman were present. It was decided that for speedier action the industry department would fund all needs of the police in these three cities so that the police force does not face resource crunch.
“We want to bring world class policing in the NCR region falling in Uttar Pradesh, which comprises Noida, Greater Noida and Gaziabad. According to a proposal by Noida CEO, it was decided that the infrastructure and industry department will provide full funding support for police modernisation, purchasing GPS fitted vehicles, arms, constructing offices and police stations and other needs in this region.
The police department would only need to take care of the policing aspect and be free from carrying out other hassles” said Alok Ranjan.
He said that sensitisation and training of the police personnel deployed in the area would also be carried out by experts so that professionals and common people do not hesitate visiting a police station.
“We would establish modern police stations, which will have a reception lobby, waiting rooms and well groomed officers to attend to people approaching the police. Women police officers would be ensured at all police stations and chowki’s to make ladies more comfortable. The idea is to transform the way policing has been done for decades and make it friendlier for professionals, industrialists and the young wanting to approach the police” said Ranjan.
It was also decided to set up six new police stations, four fire brigade stations and an ultramodern cyber station manned by IT experts. The three cities would also be covered under an elaborate CCTV network so that no corner is left untouched. 600 camera’s would be installed in public places and 150 high mast lights would be set up to make the cities safer. Anti riot equipment, integrated traffic control system, a modern forensic lab, two mobile forensic labs would also be established.
“The clearance for all these projects would betaken from the cabinet within the next 15 days and work will start within this month” said Ranjan who also holds the charge of the Agriculture Production Commissioner.
